Top Things to Consider When Designing a Website

Today more than ever people use the internet for shopping, research, and entertainment. If you offer just one of these three things it will be exceedingly difficult to stay competitive with your competitors.

In today’s competitive internet world your new competitor is the first page of search results, which will be different than your competitors. The reality is most people only read the first search result so you will want to make it a worthwhile visit with quality content and relevant information.

On the other hand you can offer thousands of products and services for sale and make sure you display a professional image to the customer and a professional website design. The internet is an image based format and if you want to get a sale you need to have a professional looking website that will work well for your business. That works great, so long as you help people find it!

When it comes to shopping on the internet there are three things you want to keep in mind if you are planning on selling your products online. 1. Fast 2. Reliable 3. Aesthetically Appealing

Fast Reliable Aesthetically Appealing

When it comes to shopping on the internet there are three things you want to keep in mind if you are planning on selling your products online. Put simpler, they are: Speed. Looks. Reliability.

1. When it comes to selling your products online it can be good to do a two page site which will be the homepage and an informational home page. Recently we saw a site that did a helpful Groove CRM review and we mention it because they discuss a free version you can use to test out landing pages, carts, and more. Looked easy to use, and you can’t beat the price! (You can bet we will be testing it too.)

Your informational home page can have a section for product reviews, FAQ’s, contact page, and even a product search page.

The reality is most people only go to the first page so you will want to ensure your products can be easily found.

2. When creating a shopping cart or website to host your products make sure it is as easy as possible for the customer to add the items to their cart and checkout. The reality is most people won’t do any more than three clicks.

3. On your sales page make sure there are no distractions the customer needs to see. If they can’t find the product they want or they don’t like what they have it will decrease your sales.

Think in terms of those three elements, and we predict you will significantly improve your outcomes. Hope this helps!
